Hallux valgus and calluses
Corrective orthosis
Corrects the deviation and relieves pain
Left foot
A hallux valgus is often associated with pain in the plantar area because the big toe no longer plays its role of support, the load that it supported is distributed naturally on the 2nd and the 3rd metatarsals. As a result, areas of horn, sometimes painful calluses appear at the base of the 2nd and 3rd toes under the foot. The double corrective orthosis was precisely developed to limit the evolution of the hallux valgus (thanks to a correction of the axis of the big toe) while protecting the forefoot.
Unlike a standard hallux valgus splint, the Hallux Valgus Double Corrective Orthotic is flexible and ultra-thin: it fits easily in all shoes and is worn daily during the day.
It acts effectively when walking on all the factors aggravating the deformation:
- The patented EPITHELIUM ™ FLEX external silicone tendon allows the big toe to be repositioned. The level of the correction is adjustable by exerting a more or less strong tension on the tendon.
- The EPITHELIUM ™ FLEX external tendon also helps to absorb the pressures on the exostosis ("onion") and thus relieve pain.
- The EpitheliumTM pellet creates a comfortable abutment against the support with the shoe and allows to push back the 1st metatarsal.
- The extra fine metatarsal compression strap helps to limit the crushing and widening of the forefoot
